Formatting a Card

To Format a Card
1. Insert th_, card you w'ant to form'at
(see [>age 13).
2. Set the I)SC MODE switch to CARD and the
POWER switch to CAMERA.
3. Display the Menu screen (see page 43).
4. Touch 41- or t1" to select

Use this camcorder to format a card, The camcorder may not recognize the
images on a card formatted by a computer or other equipmenL
Cautions:
Formatting a card deletes all images on the card including the delete-protected
images, Be sure to copy important da_ on your computer or other media
source before formatting the card (see page 137 to transfer data on a card to a
computer),
Do not remove the power source during formatting, as this may cause damage
to the camcorder or card. It is recommended that you use the AC outlet for the
power supply.
