• Do not use or store this d evice inthe vicinity ofequipment that generates strong
electromagnetic radiation or magnetic fields. Strong static charges or the magnetic
fields produced by equipment such as radio transmitters could interfere with t he
monitor, damage the stored data, oraffect the product's internal circuitry and c ause
camera misoperation.
• The l iquid crystal panel used inthe monitor ismanufactured using extremely high
precision technology. Although the level offunctioning pixels is99.99% or better, you
should be aware that 0.01% or fewer of t he pixels may not illuminate or may illuminate
when they s hould not. However, this h as n o effect on the recorded image.
• There is apossibility that the illustrations and t he display screen of t he monitor inthis
manual are different from the actual ones.
• In this m anual, the generic term "computer(s)" refers toeither aWindows PC or a
Macintosh hereafter.
• The c amera can u se e ither D-LI109 battery or the o ptional AA battery holder D-BH109
with f our AA batteries. In this m anual, both the D-LI109 and D -BH109 are referred to
as the battery hereafter.
Except stated above, the generic term "battery(ies)" refers toany t ype o fbatteries
used for t his c amera and i ts accessories.
For USing Your camera safely
We have paid close attention to the safety of this product. When using this
product, we request your special attention regarding items marked with the
following symbols.

• Do not disassemble or modify the camera. High voltage areas are present inside the
camera, with the risk of electric shock.
• If the camera interior is exposed due to dropping or otherwise damaging the camera,
never touch the exposed portion. There is a risk of electric shock.
• Do not look directly at the sun through the camera with a telephoto lens attached, as
viewing the sun may damage your eyes. Viewing the sun directly with a telephoto lens
may lead to a loss of eyesight.
• If any irregularities occur during use, such as smoke or a strange odor, stop use
immediately, remove the battery or the AC adapter, and contact your nearest
PENTAX Service Center. Continuing to use the product can cause a fire or electric
shock.
