16.Tightenthe idler pulleyboltand lock nut halfa turn.
17.Placethe belt betweenthe two pulleyhalveson the
crankshaft.Makesureto routethe belt insidethe belt
guard pin. See Figure21.
18.Pinchboth sidesof the belt togethersothat the belt is
not in the pulleygroove,and the lowerpulleycan be
pushedtowardsthe engine.See Figure22.
19.Pivotthe controlarmback to its originalpositionand
reinstallsix-speedcableintothe slot. See Figure23.
20.Makesurethe belt is routedinsidethe pulleyhalves
and the belt guardpin.
21.Reinstall t he bolt securingtransmissionto rear mower
housing.
22.Returnthe baffle backto its originalpositionand
securewith three hexscrewsremovedearlier.
23.Lightlylubricatethe insideof the bladeadapterand
reinstallthe bladeadapter,blade,and blade bell
support in the correctorder.
24.Tightenthe hexbolt to securethe blade to torque:
450-600 in. Ibs.
Off-Season
Storage
The followingstepsshouldbe taken to prepareyour lawn
mowerfor storage.
1. Cleanand lubricatemowerthoroughlyas describedin
the lubricationinstructions.
2. We do not recommendthe useof a pressurewasher
or gardenhoseto cleanyour unit.
3. Referto enginemanualfor correctengine
storageinstructions.
4. Coat mower'scuttingbladewith chassisgreaseto
preventrusting.
5. Store mowerin a dry,cleanarea. Do notstore next to
corrosivematerials,such as fertilizer.
Whenstoringany type of powerequipmentin a poorly
ventilatedor metal storageshed,care shouldbe takento
rust-proofthe equipment.Using a light oil or silicone,coat
the equipment,especiallycablesand all movingparts of
your lawnmowerbeforestorage.
