Attaching the Battery Cables
NOTE:ThepositivebatteryterminalismarkedPos. (+).
Thenegativebatteryterminalis markedMeg.(-).
• Thepositivecable(heavy redwire) issecuredto the
positivebatteryterminal(+)with a hexbolt and hex
nut at thefactory.Makecertainthat the rubberboot
coversthe terminalto help protectitfromcorrosion.
• Removethehex boltand wing nutfrom the negative
cable.
• Removetheblack plasticcover,ifpresent,from the
negativebatteryterminaland attachthe negative
cable(heavy blackwire)to the negativebattery
terminal(-) withthe bolt and wing nut.
• Makecertain thehold-downstrap isin positionover
the battery,securingit in place. See Figure1.
NOTE:If the batteryis putinto serviceafter the date
shownon top of battery,chargethe batteryas instructed
on page 26 of this manualprior to operatingthe tractor.
Gas and Oil Fill-up
Thegasolinetank islocated underthe hood and hasa
capacityof eithertwo or threegallons.Do notoverfill.

Servicethe enginewith gasolineand oil as instructedin
the separateEngineOperator/Owner M anualpackedwith
yourtractor.Readinstructionscarefully.
IMPORTANT: Y ourtractorisshippedwith motoroil inthe
engine.However, y ou MUSTcheckthe oil levelbefore
operating.Be careful notto overfill.
