Adjusting
the
sound
(cont.)
The "Speaker"
function
allows you to select how the television's
speakers
will be used.
• Choose "Internal"
if you want to play the television's
sound
through
its built-in
speakers.
• Choose "Internal
Center
Channel"
if you connected
your TV
to a surround
sound proces,';or and you want to use the q,v's
built-in
speakers
as center
channel
speakers.
• Choose "External"
if you connected
speakers
to the speaker
terminals
on the rear of the TV, or if you want to play the sound
of your TV through
an audio system.
The "Monitor
out" function
determines
how the TV will send an
audio signal
to an audio system
or home theater
receiver.
Your
choices are "Variable"
or "Fixed."
• If you choose "Fixed,"
the TV will send out an audio sig:aal at a
fLxed volume level. The level will not change
when you adjust
the TV's volume. Use the controls
on your audio system
to
adjust
the volume.
The "Fixed" setting
is most useful when you
can control the audio system's
volume with a remote control.
• If you choose "Variable,"
the TV's audio o_Ltput will change
when you change
the TV's w)lume. If you use this setting
with
an audio system,
turn the q`v's volume
all the way down, set the
audio system's
volume to an average
setting,
then turn 1:he TV's
volume
up until you can hear the signal.
