Display
Dim
You can adjust the brightnessof the displaypanel on the front of the DVD
Player.Choose the setting that best enablesyou to seethe display information
from a distance.Or, you may want to disablethe displaycompletely so it is
alwaysdark. Follow the steps below to adjust the brightnessof the display
panelaccording to your preference.
Press SYSTEM
MENU.
GENERAL SETUPwill be selected.Press OK.
Press • repeatedly to select VFD DIM, then press I_.
Press • or • to select 100 (full brightness), 70 (70% of highest
brightness), 40 (40% of highest brightness), or OFF (display
panel is clark and shows no information). Then, press OK. The
displaywill dim or brighten according to your choice.
Press SYSTEM MENU to remove the menus.
Screen
Saver
The ScreenSaveris the moving DVD logo that appearson your TV screen
when playbackis stopped. It prevents damageto your TV screen causedby
leavinga still imageon the TV too long.
Press SYSTEM
MENU.
GENERAL SETUPwill be selected.Press OK.
Press • repeatedly to select SCR SAVER (screen saver), then
press I_.

Press • or • to select ON or OFF, then press OK. Choose ON
to havethe ScreenSaverappear on your TV screen when you havenot
usedthe Playerfor approximately five minutes. To disablethe screen
saver,choose OFF. A dark blue PhilipsDVD screen will appear when
playbackis stopped.
Press SYSTEM MENU to remove the menus.
