Making
these simple checks before calling for service, you may save time and money.
Picture OK. Poor sound.
Sound OK. Poor picture.
No picture or sound.
Picture blurred or distorted. Ghost in picture.
i[ Poor or no color.

No sound.
Cannot select certain channels.
No closed captions.
Black box covers half of screen.
No picture or sound when you select Video source.
_Neak or no stereo sound
when using a stereo VCR.
TV appears to remain on the same channel when you use
the Channel Up!Down arrows.
Remote does not work.
Auto Demo does not turn Off.
Menu options cannot be changed or selected.
Re-orient antenna, q'U another channel --possible
station trouble.
Adjust Audio Menu options. Check for local interference. Is
;mtenna/cable connection loose?
Re-orient antenna. TLy another channel -- possible station trouble.
Adjust Video Menu options. Trouble with cable-TV system? Is
ntennw'cable conn_ection loose?
s TV on? Is there power in wall outlet? ls TV plugged in? Is
ntenna hooked up'? Is cable hooked ap? Is the channel blocked by
e Child Lock? Trouble with cable-TV system? Check auxiliary
audio!video
equipment. Check chmmel selection.
Check antenna or cable hookup tbr broken wires. Try another
channel -- possible station trouble. Check for local interference.
Is it a color program? Check antenna or cable hookup for broken
x_ires. Adjust Video Menu options.
Volume setting may be too low. Check MUFE
on remote. Check
Audio Mode in Audio Menu: Audio Mode may be set to SAP, but
no SAP signal is detected on the channel. Is SPEAKILRS switch on
TV back set to EXT (External)?
Set to INT (Internal),
to hear
sound from the TV's spemkers.
Ad&'Del/Fav of the Setup Menu may skip channels.
Are captions available? Is Caption 1, 2, 3, or 4 selected using the
(Laption_q'ext option_of the Setup _Metro_??
Is text available?
is Text l, 2, 3, or 4 selected in the Caption/Text
option of the Setup Menu?
Is audio/video source hooked up properly? Are all wires connected
[ to AUX INPUT jacks on connection
center?
Check Audio mode. Was stereo sound present before you selected
Video source?
Check Add/DeEFav
in Setup Menu: Is only one channel labeled
zLs"Added?"
If operating TV in Fay mode, is only one channel
labeled as "Fav?"
Are batteries good'? Is TV turned On? Is TV plugged in?
Set Auto Demo to Offin the Setup IMenu.
P,eset the TV by disconnecting
the: AC power cord from the power
outlet, wait a few minutes, then plug the TV back into the outlet.
You will have to reset the clock to the current time.
