Care and cleaning of the range.
Oven Shelves
Glean file oven shekes
Mill an abrasive
cleanser
or steel wool. Mier
cleaning,
rinse the shekes
Mth clean water and dry
with a clean cloth.
NOTE:Theshiny,silver-colored o venshelves
(onsomemodels) m aybe cleaned in theself-
cleaning oven.However, theshelves will darken
in color, l osetheirlusterandbecome hardto slide
if cleaned duringtheself-cleaning c ycle.
To make the sheh'es slide more easil};
apply a small amount of vegetable oil
or cooking oil m a paper towel and wipe
the edges of the oven shelves with the
paper towel.
Porcelain
Enamel Cooktop
The porcelain enamel finish is sturdy but
breakable if misused. This finish is aci&
resistant. Howevei, any acidic foods
spilled (such as fruit juices, tomato or
vinegar) should not be permitmd to
remain on the finish.
If acids spill on die cookmp while it is
hot, use a d_y paper towel or clofll m
wipe it up right away. When the surface
has cooled, wash with soap and WamL
Rinse well.
For other spills such as fat spatte_ings,
w_tshwith soap and water or cleansing
powde,s after the surface has cooled.
Rinse well. Polish with a d_T cloth.
Painted Surfaces
Painted surfaces include the sides and
the drawer flont.
Glean these with soap and wamr or
a vinegar and wamr solution.
Do not use commerciM
oven cleaners,
cleaning
powders,
steel wool or hmsh
abrasives
on any pMnted surface.
Oven Vent
The oven is vented through an opening
under the left rear surface unit.
This areacouldbecome hotduringovenuse.
It is noimal for steam to come out of die
vent and moisture may collect underneath
the coils when the oven is in use.
The vent is important for proper Mr
circulation.
