HOW TO INSTALL THE MULCHER PLATE
Use the fasteners shown below to install the mulcher plate The
fasteners are shown full size.
3. Fasten the mulcher plate with the two wingnuts A and two
carriage bolts B (Figure 30),

_ ARNING: To prevent the engine from starting, dis-
connect the wire from the spark plug. Make sure the
attachment clutch is in the DISENGAGE position.
The mulcher plate lets you mulch the grass for a clean, fine cut
Install the mulcher plate as foltows_
1. Lift the discharge chute. Slide the mulcher plate underthe
discharge chute (Figure28),,

Push the mulcher plateto the rear..(Figure 29),. Make sure the
two tabs on the mulcher plate are locked around the two nuts
for the chute bracke[ Also, make sure the side tab fits inside
the discharge opening°

To discharge the grass out the side or into a grass bagger, remove
the mulcher plate Attach the fasteners to the mulcher plate for
future use..
IMPORTANT: There are several different types of grass. Some
types of grass are more difficult to cut. If you remove the
mulcher plate and the grass does not discharge correctly,
replacethe blade with a standard blade. The part number of the
standard blade is 56212E701.
