Superscript/Subscript
Superscripts and subscripts are used mainly for scientific

text composition (for instance, exponents, chemical sym- _
bols, or reference to footnotes).
To print a superscript, press [CODE] ÷ [,1
(comma)
to raise the carrier by f/12
inch, and then type the character that you want in superscript.

To print a subscript, press [CODE] ÷ L] (period) to lower the carder by 1/12
inch, and then type the character that you want in subscript.

TOrestart normaI typing: After typing a superscript, press [CODE] + [.] {period).
After typing a subscript, press [CODE] + L] (comma). This will move the paper
back to normal position.
• In supedsubscript mode, the carrier will always move by 1/12 inch,
regardless of the current line spacing.
- Super/subscdptsofmorethan 1!12incharenotpossible.Thebeepwi[I
sound if you press twice on [CODE] ÷ [,] / [CODE] + [.].
• If you wish to move the carriage more than 1/12 inch, use [CODE] ÷
[INDEX] (P) or [CODE] + [REV] (O), However, in this case, the
correction memory will be cleared.
