Afterthe belttensionhasbeenadjusted, i fthebeltis excessively s tretched,
youmayneedtoadjustthe idlerpulleyrod.Thiscanbe checked easily.
With theengineoff and the clutchcontrolbail disengaged,shiftthe
gear selectionhandleto eachforwardmode. If the indicator bracket
touchesthe idlerpulleyrod with theclutchcontrol bail disengaged,
thenan adjustmentis necessary.
1.
Disconnectand groundthe spark plugwire againsttheengine.
2.
Removethebelt coveras describedunderBelt Replacement
earlierin this section.
3.
Removethecotterpin and springwasherfrom the idlerpulleyrod.

Movethe idlerpulleyrod to the lowerhole inthe idlerbracket.

Replacethespringwasherand hairpinclip.
