TROUBLE
SHOOTHNG
WARNING: Removal of the Arc Stabilizer or welder
cabinet tops for any reason must be done by a quali-
fied service technician.
Be sure the branch circuit main disconnect switch or
circuit
fuses are removed
(or High Frequency
Arc
Stabilizer and welder plug and cord removed from their
receptacles)
before removing the cabinet.. Placing the
"ON-OFF" switch on the attachment in the "OFF" posi-
tion does not remove voltage from the power' leads
inside the High Frequency
Arc Stabilizer-BE
SAFE
AND BE ALIVE, OPEN THE BRANCH CIRCUIT, OR UN-
PLUG BOTH THE WELDER AND THE ARC STABILIZER.
TROUBLE
Spark gaps or
Arc Stabilizer

Complaints of radio/

interference.
Arcing, odor, smoke,
noise or other signs
of welder damage°
PROBABLE CAUSE
REMEDY
"On-Off" switch "Off"
Turn switch "On"
Spark gaps eroded (gap
too wide).

Overheating from failure
to operate welder at reduced
output or duty cycle when
using AC GTAW process.
Damage to welder by high
frequency voltage from
Readjust spark gaps See "Maintenance"

for DANGER note and procedure.
Discontinue operation immediately
Review
installation and grounding carefully, Refer
to "Installation"
section of this manual

welder inspected or repaired by a qualified
