REPLACING
BATTERY
_WARNING:
Do notshort
batteryterminals
by allowing
a wrench
or any other object to
contact
both terminals
at the same
time.
Before
connecting
battery,
remove
metal
bracelets,
wristwatch
bands,
rings,
etc.
Positive terminal
must be connected
first to
prevent sparking from accidental
grounding.
1o Lift hood to raised position.
2.
DisconnectBLACKbatterycable
(A) then
RED battery cable and carefully
remove
battery from tractor.
3.
Install new batterywith
terminals in same
position
as old battery.
4.
First connect
RED battery
cable
(B) to
positive
(+) battery terminalwith
hex bolt
and keps nut as shown. Tighten securely.
Slide terminal
cover (C) over terminal.
5o Connect BLACKgroundingcabteto
neg-
ative (-) battery terminal
with remaining
hex bolt and keps nut. Tighten
securely.
6.
Close hood.

TO REPLACE
HEADLIGHT
BULB
1.
Raise hood.
2o Remove bulb holder from the hole inthe
backside
of the grill,
3.
Replace
bulb in holder and install bulb
holder securely
back into the hole in the
backside
of the grill.
4.
Close hood.
INTERLOCKS
AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged
wiring may cause your
tractor to run poorly, stop running, or prevent
it from starting.
. Check wiring.

Replace with 30 amp automotive4ype
plug-
in fuse.

Raise hood.
Unsnap
headlight
wire connector.
Stand in front of tractor.
Grasp hood at
sides, tilt toward
engine
and lift off of
tractor.
When replacing
hood, be sure to recon-
nect the headlight
wire connector.

REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT
Should your transmissionrequire removal for
service or replacement, itshould be purged
after reinstallation and before operating the
tractor. See "PURGE TRANSMISSION"

TO ADJUST
CARBURETOR
Your carburetor has been preset at the factory
and adjustment
should
not be necessary.
However, minor adjustment
may be required
to compensate
for differences
in fuel, tem-
perature,
altitude or load. If the engine does
need adjustment,
see engine manual.
