TO START
ENGINE WITH A WEAK
BATTERY
(See Fig. 38)
When you charge the battery, do not smoke.
Keep the battery sway from any sparks. The
fumes from the battery acid can cause an
explosion°
Ifyour batteryisloo weak to start the engine,itshouldbe
recharged, If "jumper cables" are used for emergency starling
follow this procedure,

VOLT NEGATIVE GROUNDED
SYSTEM. OTHER VEHICLE
MUST ALSO
BE A 12 VOLT
NEGATIVE
GROUNDED
SYSTEM. DO NOT LISE YOUR TRACTOR BATTERY TO
START OTHER VEHICLES.
TO ATTACH JUMPER CABLES -

Push battery boot sway from POSITIVE (+) terminal

Connect RED (+) cabFe to POSITIVE
(+) terminal en
battery, taking care not to short against chassis.,
o
Connect BLACK (-) cable to NEGATIVE
(-) terminal on
battery:
TO REMOVE CABLES, REVERSE ORDER -

BLACK (-) cable from battery,

RED (+) cable from battery.
TO REPLACE
FUSE (See Fig. 39)
•
Raise hood.
®
Locate fuse herder under dash,
o
Remove fuse and rap{ace with a 15 amp automotive-
type plug in fuse (see REPAIR PARTS section for more
information).

Raise hood_ NO'rE: Do not remove plastic headlight lens
when replacing headlight bulb
•
Turn headlight harness (holding bulb) 1/4 turn counter-
clockwise and remove.
•
Puli butb out (do not unscrew). Push in new bulb..
•
Replace headlight harness and turn 1/4 turn clockwise to
lock in ptaca.
•
Close hood.

Loose or damaged wiring may cause your tractor to run poorly,
stop running, or prevent it from starting
