SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO ADJUST STEERING
GEAR
(See Fig. 3 5)
if excessive play develops in steering,
adjust pinion
and
sector gears as foffows:
•
Position front wheels straight forward.
•
Arrows should align in pinion and sector gear.
•
Slightly loosen mounting screws in lower steering shaft
bearing.
•
Move lower steering beating toward back of tractor, as
needed.
Hotd bearing in place, tighten mounting screws securety_
Use a 10-inch wrench or a torque wrench, If torque wrench
is used, torque mounting screws to between 30 and 35 foot
pounds.

Block up axle securely

On front wheels, remove hub cap, retaining ring and
washer(s) to remove wheel

On rear wheels, remove hub cap and bolts to remove
wheel.
•
Repair tire and re-assemble.
•
Onrearwheets,

to 50 ft Ibs_

On front wheels, replace washer(s), and retaining ring
•
Replace hubcaps.
