Administrative privileges are required to access this view. If a switch or
device is added or removed from the network, it is necessary to save the
changes and relaunch the Zone Administration view for the changes to take
effect.
When administering Zoning, the following steps are recommended:
1. Define zone aliases to establish groupings.
2. Add zone members.
3. Place zones into one or more zone configurations.
4. Enable one of the zone configurations (only one can be enabled at a time).
There are three separate methods for adding members to a zone. Each
method corresponds to a zoning "mode," and the combination of the
methods corresponds to an additional mode. Once a mode is selected, all
zoning operations must correspond to that mode, and any zones, aliases,
and configuration files which do not cannot be selected.
