Using Preset Manual
Preset manual is used with mixed lighting or to compensate for lig ht sources with a
strong color cast when the desired effect has not been achieved with white balance
settings like Auto and Incandescent ([or example, to make images shot under a
lamp with a red shade look as though they had been shot under white light).
Use the procedure below to measure the white balance value under the lighting
used during shooting.

Place a white
or gray reference
object under the lighting
that will be
used during
shooting.

Display the shooting
menu ([_[_ 11,37), use
the multi selector to select PRI L" P reset manual
in the White
balance
menu, and press the _]_
button.
• The camerazooms in to tile position for measuring
white balance,

Select Measure.
• To apply the most recentlymeasured white balance
value,select Cancel and pressthe _) button. The
white balancesetting will not be measuredagain and
the most recently measuredvalue will be set.

Frame the reference
object in the measuring
window.

Press the _
button
to measure a value for preset manual.
• The shutter is releasedand the new white-balance value isset. No image is saved.

Notes About Preset Manual
A value for flash lighting
cannot
be measured
with Preset
manual.
When
shooting
using the flash,
set White
balance
to Auto
or Flash.
