• Memory
cards with an SD Speed
Class rating
of 6 or faster are recommended
when
recording
movies (_
19), When using a memory
card with a lower Speed Class rating, movie
recording
may
stop unexpectedly.
• There may be some degradation
in image
quality
when
digital zoom
is used. If the digital zoom
is
not being
used when
movie
recording
begins,
rotating
and holding
the zoom
control
at T zooms
the image
using optical
zoom and the zoom
stops at the maximum
optical
zoom
ratio, After
letting
go of the zoom control,
rotate the zoom control
to i
again to mag ni_ the image
using the
digital
zoom.
• When
recording
ends, digital zoom
turns off,

autofocus
lens drive movement,
vibration
reduction,
and aperture

brightness

phenomena
may be seen in the monitor
while
recording
movies. These
phenomena
are saved in the recorded
movies.
Banding
may occur in images under fluorescent,
mercury
vapor, or sodium
vapor lighting
Subjects
that move quickly
from one side of the frame to the other, such as a moving
train or car,
may appear
skewed
The entire
movie
image
may be skewed
when the camera
is panned.
Lighting
or other
bright
areas may leave residual
images when the camera
is moved

Camera
Temperature
• The camera
may become
warm when
shooting
movies for an extended
period
of time
or when
the camera
is used in a hot area,
• If the inside of the camera
becomes
extremely
hot when
recording
movies, the camera
will automatically
stop recording
after 30 seconds.
The amount
of time
remaining
until the camera
stops recording
(4_30 s) is displayed,
Five seconds
after the camera
stops recording,
it turns itself off.
Leave the camera
off u ntil the inside of the camera
has cooled.

Autofocus
may not perform
as expected,
as explained
in "Autofocus"

29). Try the following
methods
when recording
movies of these
kinds of subjects.
1. Before
shooting,
set Autofocus
mode
to AF-S
Single AF (default
setting)
in the movie
menu.

2. Aim the camera
so that another
subject
positioned
the same distance
from the camera
as the
desired
subject
is in the center
of the monitor,
press the •
(_
movie
record)
button,
and then
aim at the desired
subject after recording
starts.
