I_! Night ianctscape _
Slow shutter speeds are used to produce stunning night
landscapes.
• Camera focuses at infinity. When the shutter-release button
is pressed halfway, the focus area or focus indicator ([] 6)
always glows green; however, focus may not be set for near
subjects, while the camera focuses at infinity.
• The AF-assist illumination turns off automatically regardless
of the setting of the AF-assist illumination ([] 124).

_Close-up
Photograph flowers, insects and other small objects at close
range.
• The macro mode (_ 31) will turn ON and the zoom will
automatically move to the closest possible shooting
position.
• Tile camera can focus at distances as close as 10 cm (3.9 in.)
when tile _1_and the zoom indicator glow green (zoom
position is positioned in tile left side of _). The closest
possible shooting position may vary according to tile zoom
position.
• AF area mode is set to Manual (_ 103). When _) is
pressed, camera focuses on subject in active focus area.
• While the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the
camera focuses continuously until focus is acquired and
locked.
• As pictures are easily affected by camera shake, check the
Vibration reduction (_ 123) setting and hold the camera
steadily.

Other settings can be selected. Note that the flash may be unable to light entire subject at
distances of less than 30 cm (11.8 in.).
[]q: For those scene modes with i_], use of a tripod is recommended. Turn Vibration reduction
(_ 123) off when using a tripod.
_: For those scene modes with [_i_, noise reduction is carried out automatically so the time taken to
save an image will be longer than usual.
