5. Remove the protective materials from the automatic
document feeder's mounting hardware.
6. Close the automatic document feeder.
7. Connect the automatic document feeder's cable to the
option connector on the scanner. Then reconnect the
scanner's power cable.

Loading documents in the automatic document feeder

You can load up to 30 sheets in the automatic document feeder,
based on a paper weight of 17 lb and a stack thickness of
0.24 inches (6.0 mm) or less. You can load documents of the
following sizes:
