NOTE:This machineis shippedWITHOUTGASOLINE or OIL. After
settingup the edger,servicethe enginewith gasolineand oil as
instructed.
NOTE:Reference to rightor left hand sideof the edger is observed
fromthe operatingposition.
ASSEMBLY
Handle
Removeand discard anypackagingcardboardthat maybe present
betweenthe upper handleand the lowerhandle.
1. Pivotthe upper handleupwarduntilit snapsinto place.See
Figure1.

2. Tightenthe handknobs,whichare locatedon boththe left and
rightsides of the handle.
Starter Rope
1. Locatethe rope guide foundon the rightside of the upperhandle.
Loosen,but do NOTremove,the wing knobwhichsecuresthe
ropeguide to the upperhandle.See Figure2.

2. Standbehindthe edger and hold the bladecontrolagainstthe
upper handle.
3. Gently pullthe starterropeout of the engine.
Theedger bladeWILL rotatewhenthe starterropeis pulled.
NOTE:Thestarter ropewill not pullout of the engine unlessthe blade
control (referto Figure2) is depressedagainstthe upperhandle.
4. Slip the starterrope throughthe top of the ropeguide. Retighten
the wing knobwhich securesthe ropeguide to the upperhandle.
