If youdrain the oil from thetop oil fill tube (E), keepthe spark
plug end of the engine(F) up. See Figure18.Drainthe oil intoan
approvedcontainer.

addingoil, wait one minuteand thencheckthe oil level.

Installand tightenthe dipstick.

Removethe dipstickand checkthe oil level. It shouldbe at the
FULLmark (J)on the dipstick.

Installand tightenthe dipstick.
HOW TO SERVICE
THE AIR FILTER
Gasolineand its vaporsare extremelyflammableand explosive.
Fireor explosioncancause severeburnsor death.
Neverstartor run theengine with theair cleanerassemblyor the
air filter removed.
Donot use pressurized air or solventsto cleanthefilter. Pressurized
air candamagethe filter and solventswilldissolvethe filter.

Removethe screw(A) from thetop of the air filter assembly(B).
See Figure20.
If you drain theoil from the topoil fill tube, thefuel tank mustbe
emptyor fuel can leakout and resultin a fireor explosion.To empty
thefuel tank, run the engineuntilit stopsfrom lack of fuel.
Add Oil
Placeenginelevel.
Cleantheoil fill area of anydebris.
See the Specifications sectionforoil capacity.

Removethedipstick (G) and wipewith a cleancloth. See
Figure19.

To preventdebrisfrom fallingintothe carburetor, c arefullyremove
the air filterassembly.
3.
Removethe foamelement(C) from the air filter base.
4.
Washthe foam elementin liquid detergentand water.Squeeze
dry the foam elementin a cleancloth.
5.
Saturate the foam elementwith clean engineoil.To removethe
excessengineoil, squeezethe foam elementin a cleancloth.
6.
Installthe foamelementinto theair filter base.
7.
Installthe air filter assemblyonto thecarburetorand securewith
screw.
