BELT
ADJUSTMENT
Traction Drive Belt
Traction drive belt has constant spring pressure and does not
require adjustment.
Replace the belt if it is slipping (See Belt Replacement in this
section of the manual).
Auger Drive Belt
If your snow blower will not discharge snow, check the control
cable adjustment.
If it is correct, then check the condition of
the auger drive belt. If it is damaged or loose, replace it (see
Belt Replacement in this section of the manual).

REPLACEMENT
How To Remove The Auger Drive Belt (see Figure 26)
1.
Disconnect spark plug wire.
2.
Remove belt cover.
3.
Loosen belt guide and pull away from auger drive
pulley (see Figure 26).
4.
Loosen the nut on the auger idler pulley. Pull the auger
idler pulley away from the auger drive belt.
5.
Remove belt from auger drive pulley.
6.
Remove belt from impeller pulley.
7.
Position new belt onto impeller pulley.
8.
Position new belt onto auger drive pulley.
9.
Adjust belt guides. (See "Belt Guide Adjustment").
10. Reinstall belt cover.
11. Reconnect spark plug wire.
How To Remove The Traction Drive Belt (see Figure 26)
Traction drive belt has constant spring pressure and does not
require adjustment. If the snow thrower will not move forward,
check the traction drive belt for wear or damage. If the traction
drive belt is worn or damaged, replace the belt as follows.
1.
Disconnect spark plug wire.
2.
Remove the auger drive belt. See "How To Remove The
Auger Drive Belt".
3.
Pull traction drive belt idler pulley away from traction
drive belt.
4.
Remove traction drive belt.
5.
Position new traction drive belt onto traction pulley.
6.
Pull idler pulley away from belt, allowing belt to be posi-
tioned onto auger pulley.
7.
Release idler pulley. Ensure idler pulley is properly en-
gaged with belt.
8.
Reinstall auger drive belt.
9.
Install and adjust the auger drive belt. See "How To Re-
move The Auger Drive Belt".
10. Adjust belt guide (see "Belt Guide Adjustment").
11. Reinstall belt cover.
12. Check the adjustment of the cables. See "How To Check
And Adjust The Cables" in the Maintenance section.
13. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
