Towing A Disabled Vehicle

NOTE: Your vehicle is equipped with
tow hooks at both the front and rear.
CAUTION!
Observe the following guidelines when
towing the vehicle:
• Tow the vehicle slowly and smoothly
to avoid damage.
• If the vehicle needs to be steered
while being towed, the ignition
switch must be in the ON position,
not in the LOCK or ACC position.

sist is not available when the engine
is off. The required operational
force for steering and braking is in-
creased significantly.
• Do not attempt to tow this vehicle
from the front with sling type tow-
ing equipment. Damage to the front
fascia will occur.
Removing and Installing
Vehicle Battery
The following steps must be taken
when removing and installing the bat-
tery:
• Turn the ignition switch and all elec-

trical devices off.
• Remove the negative (-) battery
cable.

• Remove the protective cover from the
positive (+) battery cable, and re-
move the cable.
• Remove the battery hold down, and
remove the battery.
• Install the new battery, when install-
ing the battery, connect the positive
(+) battery cable first and then the
negative (-) battery cable.
• After the new battery is installed, the
vehicle may perform unusually while
driving. This is normal due to the en-
gine control system readapting to the
vehicle's driving conditions.
NOTE: For proper disposal of a used
battery, see an authorized Chery dealer
or a local qualified waste disposal sta-
tion.
