Select one of :he languages or language cooes from AA
:o ZU (see "Lanc, uac,e cooe lis:" on pac, e 54) or "OFF (no
sub:itle)."
Note:
• When the language you have selected for MENU LANGUAGE,
AUDIO LANGUAGE, or SUBTITLE i,_net r¢corded on a di_, the
original language is u_d as the initial language automatically

16:g AUTO (Wide television conversion)
Selec: when the aspec: retie of your TV is 16:9
(wioe TV).
4:3 LB (Letler Box conversion)
Selec: when the aspec: retie of your TV is 4:3
(convemionel TV). While viewinc, a wide screen
picture, the bleck bats appear on the top and the
bottom of :he screen.
4:3 PS (Pan Scan conversion)
Selec: when the aspec: retie of your TV is 4:3
(convemionel TV). While viewinc, a wide screen
picture, the bleck bats oo not eppeaq nov._,ever, : he
left. eqo righ: eoges of the pic:ures will no: be
shown on the screen.
Ex.: 18:9 Ex.: 4:3 LB Ex: 4:3 PS
• Even if "4:3 PS" is selec:eo, :he screen size may
become "4:3 LB" with some DVD VIDEOs. This
oepends on now :he discs ate recotoeo.
• When you select "16:9 NORMAL" for e picture whose
aspec: redo is 4:3, :he picture slic,htly changes due :o
the process for converdnc, the pic:ure wid:h.
• PICTURE S OURCE
You can selec: :he pic:ure source according :o :he pic:ure
type (film o_ vioeo source). This ta4es effect only when
"PROGRESSIVE" is selectee as :he scenninc, mooe (see
pege 16).
Normelly, set to "AUTO."
Select one of the following settings:
VIDEO (NORMAL)
Suitable for pleying back a vioeo source oisc
with relatively a f_w movemen:s.
VIDEO (ACTIVE)
Suitable for pleying back a vioeo source oisc
with relatively a Io: of movemems.
FILM Suitable for pleying back a film or procjessive
source disc.
AUTO Useo to pley a oisc conteining both vioeo and
film source materiels. This uni: recoc, nizes :he
picture .-ype (film or video source) of :he current
disc ecco_oinc, to the disc info_metion.
• If the pleybac4 picture is uncleer o_ noisy, ot the oblioue
lines of the pic:ure ate rough, :ry chenginc, to other
mooes.
