2. Place t he handle assembly inposition between the handle
mounting brackets.
3. Line upthe holes i nthe handle with the holes i nthe bracket and
secure with the hardware previously removed.
ATTACHING THE SHIFT ROD
1. Makesurethe handleassemblyis in the highestposition.Referto
the OperationSection.
2. Remove thehairpin clip, rubber washer, f latwasherandT-knob from
thecontrolrodandputtherubberwasher in place.See Figure 4.

3. Slide theshift rod up throughthe upperhandleassembly,insert
the lowerend of the shift rodinto the indicatorbracketand secure
with the previouslyremovedhardware.See Figure4.

1. Makesurethe handleassemblyis in the highestposition.Referto
the OperationSection.
2. Removethecotterpin and T-knobfrom the handleswivelrod.
See Figure5.
3. Slidethe handleswivelrod throughthe upper handleassembly,
insertthe lowerend of the rod intothe swinghandle linkand
securewith the previouslyremovedhardware. S ee Figure5.
ATTACHING THE CLUTCH CABLE
1. Loosenthe uppernuton the cableand slidethe nut and washer
off the adjustablefitting. See Figure6.

3. Replacethe washerand theupper nuton the adjustablefitting
and tighten.
NOTE:Donot overtightentheclutchcable. Toomuchtensionmay
cause it to break. Be certainto checkthe clutchcableadjustment
beforeoperatingthe tiller.
4. Insertthe cable barrelintothe cablebarrel holder,insertthe
barreland barrelholder intothe clutchhandleand securewith the
hexscrew.See Figure7.
