REPLACING BATTERY
Batteriescontainsulfuricacid whichmay causeburns. Do notshort
I circuitor mutilatebatteriesin any way.Do notput batteriesin fireas
[these may burst or releasetoxic materials.
1.
Loosenstar knobssecuringupperand lowerhandlesandcarefully
foldthe upper handledowntowardthe lowerhandleas shown in
Figure20.
2.
Removethetwoscrewssecuringbatterycovertobatteryhousingand
placethem tothe side. See Figure20.
3.
Open batterycover,removepositiveand negativeleadsfrom
battery,removeand replacewith newbattery.Connectthe
positivelead to the positiveside of the batterypack,then connect
the negativeside.
NOTE:The batteryyou havemaydiffer slightlyfrom the one shownin
Figure21. Referto the PartsList.
IMPORTANT: W henreplacingbatterypackin handlepanel,battery
pack mustbe positionedwith the positiveterminalto the left side
and the negativeterminalto the rightside of panel(Positiveterminal
is closestto the key switch).See Figure21.Replacingbatterypack
incorrectlywill causeseriousdamage.

Reattachbatterycoverto batteryhousingbysecuringwith the
two screwsremovedearlier,makingsureto snap thewire conduit
on the left intoplaceon the housing.

Charging
Battery
The batterycontainscorrosivefluidand toxic material;handlewith
careand keepawayfrom children.Do notpuncture,disassemble,
mutilateor incineratethe battery.Explosivegases couldbe vented
duringchargingor discharging.Use in a wellventilatedarea,away
fromsourcesof ignition.
NOTE:The specialdesignedplugon the chargerwill onlyfit intothe
plug on the batterybox.

Plugthe batterychargerintothe porton the undersideof the
batteryhousing.See Figure22.
2.
Insertthe batterychargerplug intoa standard120volt household
outlet.Chargebatteryfor 8 to 10 hoursbeforeinitial use.Failure
to do so mayresult in diminishedbatterylife. Do not charge
longer than 12 hours. The batteryshouldonly needto be
chargedupon initialsetupand afterany otherextendedperiodsof
non-use.
3.
After charging,disconnectchargerplug from outletfirst, then
disconnectchargerleadfrom battery.
