Usingthe self-cleaning upperoven. gecom
If your model has a door latch, never force the latch handle. Forcing the handle will damage the door lock mechanism.
The oven door must be closed and all controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly.
Wipe up heavy soil on fl?e oven
bottom.
Before a Clean Cycle
For the fi_st self:clean cycle, we recommend
venting your ldtchen with an open window
or using a ventilation fire or hood.
Remove the broiler pan, broiler grid, all
cookware, probe and any aluminum foil
fl'om the oven--they cam_ot withstand the
high cleaning temperatures.
NOTE..
_: If Your oven is equipped with nickel oven
shelves, relnove theln betore you begin
the selfZclean cycle.
::Ji:: If your oven is equiI)ped with gray
porcelain-coated oven shelves, the)' Inay
be left in the oven durii_g the sell:clean
cycle.
Soil on the fl'ont fl'ame of the range aim
outside the gasket on the door will need to
be cleaned by hand, Clean these areas with
hot watei; soap-filled scouting pads or
cleansei_ such as Soft Scrub"_ Rinse well
with clean water and dry.
Do not clean the gasket. The fibelglass
inaterial of the oven door gasket cannot
withstand abrasion. It is essential tot the
gasket to renmin intact. If wm notice it
beconfing worn or ti'ayed, replace it.
X&]l)e up any heavy spillovels on the oven
bottoln.
Make sure the oven light bulb cover is in
place and the oven light is off.
IMPORTANT'. The health
ot solne birds
is extremely sensitNe to the fimms given
off during the self_cleaning cycle ot any
range. Move birds to another well
ventilated room.
NOTE." Use caution when opening the upper
oven after the self-clean cycle has ended.
Theoven may still be hot.

How to Set the Upper Oven for Cleaning

desired clean dine, if a fiine other
than 4 houi_ is needed.
Clean cycle tilne is nommllv 4 houls. Ym
can clmnge the clean tilne to any tilne
between 3 houi_ and 5 houI_, del)ending
on how dirty your oven is.
[] Touch
the START pad.
On inodels without a door latch, the door
locLs automatically. The display will show
the clean time remaining. It will not be
possible to open the oven door tmtil the
tenaperamre drops below the lock
teml)erature and the
LOCKED DOOR
light goes off.

slide the latch handle to the left as tier

To stop a clean cycle, touch the
