Alternate Printer Driver (Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/Server 2003)

If you are using one or more shared printers in Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/Server
2003, you can install an alternate printer driver. Installing an alternate printer driver
enables you to install a printer driver on a client PC via a network.
To specify settings for the shared printer, follow the procedure below.

Installing the Software
NOTE
If you want to specify shared printer settings, or are installing an alternate driver in
Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/Server 2003, select [Use as Shared Printer]. For
instructions on how to specify detailed settings for a shared printer, see steps 2 to 4
of "Alternate Printer Driver (Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP/Server 2003)," on p. 2-18.
Verify the installation settings ➞ click [Start].
After the files are copied, click [Exit] to finish the installation.
Restart your computer when a message is displayed prompting you to do so.
The printer icon is displayed in the [Printers] folder. The driver is now installed.
Start the Installer ➞ follow the instructions in the dialog
boxes.
