3G
3rd generation mobile communications. A
digital system for mobile communications
which aims at global use and provides
increased bandwidth. 3G lets a mobile
device user access a wide variety of services,
such as multimedia.
Ad-hoc
A WLAN network mode where two or more
operating
devices connect to each other using WLAN
mode
directly without a WLAN access point.
Cookies
Cookies are little pieces of information,
given by the server to you, to store
information about your visits to a web site.
When you accept cookies, the server is able
to evaluate your use of the web site, what
you are interested in, what you want to
read and so on.
DNS
Domain name service. An internet service
that translates domain names such as
www.nokia.com into IP addresses such as
192.100.124.195. Domain names are easier
to remember but this translation is needed

because the internet is based on IP
addresses.
Touch tones
Dual-tone multifrequency tones. Touch
tones assign a specific frequency, or tone,
to each key so that it can easily be identified
by a microprocessor. Touch tones allow you
to communicate with voice mailboxes,
computerized telephony systems, and so
on.
EAP
Extensible authentication protocol. EAP
plug-ins are used in wireless networks to
authenticate wireless devices and
authentication servers.
EGPRS
Enhanced GPRS. EGPRS is similar to GPRS,
but it enables faster connection. For
availability and data transfer speed, contact
your service provider.
