    Formatting Memory Cards • The first time you insert a memory card that has been used in another device into this camera, be sure to format it with this camera. • All data stored on a memory card is permanently deleted when the card is formatted. If there is data saved on the memory card that you wish to keep, copy that data to a computer before formatting.

    Available Flash Modes Auto The flash fires automatically when lighting is dim. Auto with red-eye reduction Reduce red-eye in portraits caused by the flash (A59). The flash will not fire. We recommend using a tripod to stabilize the camera when shooting in dark surroundings.

    Using the Self-timer The camera is equipped with a self-timer that releases the shutter ten seconds or two seconds after you press the shutter-release button. The self-timer is useful when you want to be in the image you are taking, and when you want to avoid the effects of camera shake that occur when you press the shutter-release button.
