Glossary
Process that returns the printer to its defaults (fixed set of
conditions). This happens every time you turn on or reset the
printer.
A method of printing in which images, lines, letters, or symbols are
formed by precisely spraying ink onto paper.
The connection between the computer and a peripheral such as a
printer. Your printer has a parallel interface, which transmits data
one byte, or eight bits, at a time.
Materials upon which data is printed, such as envelopes, plain
paper, special paper, and transparencies.
Ink jet technology that uses an electronic pulse to precisely force
the ink through the print head. This results in smaller, cleaner dots,
sharp lines, and crisp text.
Printing technology that produces images in fine increments to

waiting line, or print queue, until they can be printed.
