Administration
Synchronization Request Retries—The number of retries the system performs before
marking the resources as offline.
Synchronization Time Between Retries—The number of seconds the system waits
between the retries for the synchronization operation.
Datagram Communication Port—Network port number the system uses to communicate
with the blade PCs. If you make a change here, all the blade services would also need to
match this value and any firewall settings would also have to be adjusted. You will also need
to modify the daesync.exe.config file located on the HP SAM Web server in the HP SAM
installation directory (usually c:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\SAM\Manage\
Sync). Use Microsoft Notepad to edit the file. Add this line in the appSettings: <add
key="ProtocolChannel" Value="50003"/>.
User Sign-in Time Out—The number of seconds allowed for the user to complete the log
on process. If time expires without completing a logon, the blade PC is returned to the
available list.
Client-Resource Network—When the access device connects to the blade PC, you can
specify which method it uses.
Host Name—If this is chosen, the system passes the resource Computer Name to the
access device in order to connect and relies on the DNS server to resolve the name to the
appropriate IP address.
IP Address—If this is chosen, the system passes the IP address of the blade PC to the
user access device to connect. Since the blade PC has two network cards, you must
specified which option.
Reported Subnet—The subnet to which the blade PC used to register/communicate
with the HP SAM.
Specified Subnet—If both the HP SAM server and the blade PC each have two
NICs communicating through two independent subnets, then it is necessary to
specify which subnet the access device needs to use to make a connection request.
HP SAM only allows you to enter in one subnet range. If the network environment is complex,
then DNS/Computer name must be use instead of IP address.

3.4.5.2 Active Directory

This page sets how the system should be linked to the Active Directory services to retrieve user
account information.
Login User Domain—If this is chosen, the system assumes the users that need access to the
blade PCs are in the same domain as the HP SAM Web server domain. The search operation
for those users is performed within the same domain.
LDAP Server—If this is chosen, the system searches user accounts in the Microsoft LDAP
server specified.
LDAP Server—Enter in the name of the LDAP server.
LDAP Entry Level—Enter in the LDAP level at which the HP SAM starts the search.
Organization Unit—Enter in the name where your organization units are stored.
Security Group—Enter in name where your security groups are stored.
