Some discs may request that you

change the rating level set in the default
settings during playback. In this case,
the following message appears on the
monitor screen:

If this screen appears, change the level
as follows:
• To change parental level and play,
press the ENTER button.
• To play without changing the
parental level, press the
(When the
playback will be at the parental level set
with "Setting the rating level (parental
lock.)" )
Changing the down sampling
setting
Converts linear PCM (LPCM) voice signals
recorded on the DVD disc to downsampling 48
kHz/16 bit digital signals and outputs them from
the optical cable.
NOTE
When the settings are changed, the old settings are
overwritten. Make a note of the current settings before
making changes. The settings are not cleared even when
the vehicle's battery is disconnected.

In the stop mode, press and hold the SETUP
button for at least 2 seconds.
The default setting menu appears on the monitor
screen.
NOTE
This operation cannot be performed in the PRE-STOP
mode. When the disc is being played, press the
twice to set the stop mode.

Use the Joystick to select "DOWN SAMPLING",
then press the ENTER button.

Move the Joystick up and down to choose "ON"
or "OFF" and, then press the ENTER button.
ON
The digital signals recorded on the DVD disc
with 96 kHz/24bit, 96 kHz/20bit, 96 kHz/16bit,
48 kHz/24bit, 48 kHz/20bit sampling are
converted into digital signals with 48 kHz/16bits
sampling for output from the optical output.
Set to ON at time of shipment from factory.
OFF
Digital signals sampled at 96kHz/24 bit, 96kHz/
20 bit or 96kHz/16 bit and recorded on the DVD
cannot be converted to 48 kHz/16 bit sampled
digital signal. There is no output from the
optical digital output terminal.
However, when CSS* scramble is on, a digital
signal sampled at 48kHz/16 bit can be
converted and sent out through the optical
digital output.
* CSS : An acronym for digital copy
encryption protection (Content Scrambling
System).
NOTE
Press the RETURN button to return to the previous
screen.

Press and hold the SETUP button for at least 2
seconds.
The settings are stored and the set up mode is
canceled.
