Removelock nuts and screwssecuringone of the flangekeepers
to the chuteassembly.

Placechuteassemblyonto chutebaseas shown in Fig. 4,
makingsurethat the notchesengagewith the spiralend of chute
directionalcontrol.

Secureflangekeeperremovedearlierwith lock nuts and screws.
Tighten downnutssecuring theothertwo flangekeepers. S eeFig.5.

If notalreadydone,slipthe cablesthat run fromthe handle
panelto the dischargechute intothe cableguide extendingover
the topof the engine.See Fig.4.

Normallythecable ties holdingthe steeringcables againstthe
handleare looselyinstalledon each sideof the lowerhandleat
the factory.Pullthe cableties tight to secure.Cut the excess
from theendsof cableties.
Theextensioncord is fastenedwitha cabletie to the rearof the auger
housingfor shippingpurposes.Cut thecabletie and removeit before
operatingthe snowthrower.

Neveruse yourhandsto cleara cloggedchute assembly.Shut
off engineand remainbehindhandlesuntilall movingparts have
stoppedbeforeusingthe clean-outtoolto clearthechute assembly.

A chuteclean-outtool is fastenedto the top of theauger housing
with a mountingclip. See Fig. 6. Thetool is designedto clear a chute
assemblyof ice and snow.This item,along with the extensioncord, is
fastenedwith a cable tie at the factoryfor shippingpurposes.Youmay
cut the cabletie at this time.
Drift
Cutters
1.
Removethetwo screwsand lock nutsthat secureeach drift
cutter,and removethem from the sidesof the auger housing.
2.
Turnthe drift cutters aroundand positionthemas shownin Fig.7
to the outsideof the augerhousing.
3.
Attachthedriftcutterswiththescrews and locknutsremoved earlier.
