Donotdiscardwith householdwaste.Checkwith yourlocalauthori-
ties or SearsServiceCenterfor safedisposal/recycling facilities.

Reinstallthe drain plugand tightenit securely.
Refillwith the recommended oil and checkthe oil level.See
Recommended Oil Usage chart. The engine's oil capacity is 37
ounces.
If the enginehas beenrunning,the mufflerwill be very hot. Be careful
not to touchthe muffler.
NOTE: Checkthe spark plugonce a seasonor every25 hoursof
operation.Changethe sparkplug oncea seasonor every 100 hours.
Toensureproperengineoperation,the spark plug mustbe properly
gappedand free of deposits.
1. Removethe sparkplug bootand usea spark plugwrenchto
removethe plug.See Figure18.

7. Reinstallthe oil fillercap/dipsticksecurely.
Thoroughlywashyour handswith soapand water as soonas
possibleafter handling usedoil.
Checking Spark Plug
DO NOTcheckfor sparkwith spark plug removed.DO NOTcrank
enginewith sparkplug removed.

2. Visuallyinspectthe sparkplug. Discardthe sparkplug if there is
apparentwear,or if the insulatoris crackedor chipped.Cleanthe
sparkplug with a wire brushif it is to be reused.
3. Measurethe pluggap with a feelergauge.Correctas necessary
bybendingsideelectrode.See Figure19.Thegap shouldbe set
to .02-.03inches(0.60-0.80ram).
