using Token Ring stackable
hubs.

Network Expansion with LinkBuilder FMS TR
Highlights
For flexible, cost-effective network
expansion in Token Ring environ-
ments, the LinkBuilder FMS TR fea-
tures industry-leading physical layer
support, including Phase-Locked
Loop (PLL) per-port retiming, Zero
Delay Lockout (ZDL), and jitter
reduction, with support for up to
260 users per ring.
Optional Ring In/Ring Out expan-
sion modules provide copper (UTP
or STP), fiber, and copper/fiber con-
nections for flexible expansion over
different types of media. These RI/RO
expansion modules also allow main
ring connections from separate wiring
closets as the LAN expands.
For network optimization and
control, Transcend management
applications work with the
LinkBuilder FMS TR management
agent module to implement all 10
RMON groups and provide network
analyzer level functionality through
a user-friendly, graphical interface.
Part of 3Com's SuperStack
system, the LinkBuilder FMS TR
can be combined with 3Com's
LinkConverter ™ SNA-to-LAN con-
verters for SNA internetworking, and
with the optional Redundant Power
System for maximum uptime.
