Redundancy: Redundant system design (for example, cluster, disaster recovery) is strongly
recommended to be combined with this functionality to take over immediately after the failure

Installing and configuring RAID Manager

After you have prepared for Database Validator operations, you are ready to install and configure
the RAID Manager, if not already installed and configured:
Installing RAID Manager: The RAID Manager software is installed on the host server. For
instructions on installing RAID Manager, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 RAID Manager
Installation and Configuration User Guide.
Configuring the command device: The command device can be configured on the P9500.
For instructions on configuring the command device, see the HP StorageWorks P9000
Provisioning for Open Systems User Guide.
Configuring RAID Manager: RAID Manager controls Database Validator operations based
on the configuration definition file (horcm.conf) that stores information about target volumes,
command devices, etc. The horcm.conf file is created and stored on the host running the RAID
Manager. For detailed information on the RAID Manager configuration definition file, see the
HP StorageWorks P9000 RAID Manager Installation and Configuration User Guide.
See
"Sample implementation of Database Validator" (page 14)
of RAID Manager configuration for Database Validator operations.
