Tuning to a non-preset radio station
Select the tuning mode according to the radio
wave receiving condition.
When the receiving condition is good:
Auto tuning
When it is poor due to weak radio waves:
Manual tuning

÷ In MANUAL mode, FM stations are received in mon-
aural.
Each press alternates the mode.
1 Auto tuning : ("AUTO TUNE" lit)
Stereo reception
2 Manual tuning : ("AUTO TUNE" not lit)
Monaural reception
÷ Normally, use the Auto tuning (stereo reception).
Remote control unit
Auto tuning :
The next preset station can be received automatically
every time the TUNING (5 or ∞) key is pressed.
Manual tuning :
Press the TUNING (5 or ∞) key repeatedly until the
desired station is received. The desired station can
also be received by holding the TUNING (5 or ∞) key
depressed until its frequency is displayed.
Main unit
While "AUTO TUNE" or "MANUAL TUNE" appears
on the display, use the 4 and ¢ keys to select
stations.
÷ If "AUTO TUNE" and "MANUAL TUNE" do not appear
on the display, press the STOP/[tuning mode] key
again to select a station.
Auto tuning :
The next preset station can be received automatically
every time the 4 or ¢ key is pressed.
Manual tuning :
Press the 4 or ¢ key repeatedly until the desired
station is received. The desired station can also be re-
ceived by holding the 4 or ¢ key depressed until
its frequency is displayed.
