Advanced configuration settings
Because FCIP links are long distance links, speed, performance, and security are critical.
These are controlled with the advanced options settings. Make your selections and click OK.
Consider the following when making advanced configuration settings:

Tape Pipelining is disabled unless Fast Write is selected. Fast Write is used to improve
throughput by acknowledging data locally while attempting to send it to the remote switch.
Tape Pipelining is used to improve throughput by acknowledging tape data locally for SCSI
reads/writes.
•
When Ensure connecting peer switches have known WWNs is set, the connection is
secured by ensuring that the connecting switch has the configured WWN. You do not need
to indicate the WWN if both ends are being configured simultaneously.
•
IKE Policy and IPSec policies are used to increase security. If you use an IKE policy, you
must also use an IPSec policy. The same policy type must be defined for both ends of the
tunnel. Select the policy for the local switch; the matching policy is selected for the remote
side. Otherwise, configure a matching policy manually on the switch.
The policy must have the same content, although the policy number may not match. For
example, IKE Policy 1 on the local switch may correspond to IKE policy 4 on the remote
switch. The same is true with IPSec policies. To see policy details, click View Policies.

Monitoring FCIP Services" chapter in the Fabric OS Administrator's Guide.
After you have determined the policy to choose, click OK to close the dialog.
