DIP Switch Functions (Control Modes)

There are four control modes and one control function available. Turn
the printer off, select the mode(s) you desire (see page 20 & 21 for
details) using the DIP switches on the bottom of the printer as explained
below (See Figures 6a-c below), then turn the printer back on. Note
that the DIP switches are all set to the ON position at the factory as
default positions.
SW1 - Self Print
FIGURE 6a.
This mode allows you to print a test page consisting of a repeating
pattern of various-density bars down to the end of the page. Set DIP
switch 1 to OFF to enable the self-print function. Note that the test
page size is US Letter.
SW2 – Paper Set Control
FIGURE 6b.
If this switch is in the OFF position, paper in the printer will not be
moved when the printer is powered up. This is for using roll paper. If
this switch is in the ON position, paper in the printer will be moved into
position when the printer is powered up. This is for using cut sheet
paper.
SW3 - Auto-Off Timer
FIGURE 6c.
This mode applies only when the printer is powered by the NiMH
battery. It allows you to turn the Auto-Off Timer on or off. In the ON
position, it will turn the printer off after 120 seconds of no activity. In
the OFF position, the printer will stay on until the battery is drained.
The default is ON.
SW4 - Cleaning Mode
FIGURE 6d.
DIP switch 4 is set to OFF to allow you to clean the PocketJet print
head and maintain quality printing. You must use the black felt
cleaning paper that came with your printer. The default switch setting
is ON (cleaning mode is OFF).
NOTE: In this mode, the other three switches have no effect. You
may leave them in previously set positions.
