Removing the system board

Complete the following steps to remove the system board.
Note:
10. Remove the SCSI backplane (see "SCSI backplane" on page 60).

1. Turn off the server and any attached devices.
Note: When replacing the system board, you must either update the server
with the latest firmware or restore the pre-existing firmware that the
customer provides on a diskette or CD image.
2. Disconnect power cords and external cables from the back of the server.
3. Remove the server from the rack.
4. Remove the cover (see "Removing the cover and bezel" on page 27).
5. Remove all adapters (see "Working with adapters" on page 28).
6. Remove all fans (see "Replacing a fan assembly" on page 45).
7. Remove the air baffle.
8. Remove the riser card (see "Riser card" on page 61).
9. Remove the screw securing the PCI adapter shield in position, and remove the
PCI adapter shield, making sure to put them in a safe place for reinstallation.
