Downloading the latest kernel to transfer to the Remote Commander
You can dow nload the latest kernel from the NAVITUS Web site to transfer to NAVITUS Design.
The kernel is the Remote Commander's basic program, the core portions of its operating system.

Consult the NAVITUS Web site
Change the Re m ote Com m ande r s e tting to "Re cove ry m ode ."
1.
Refer to the operating instructions of the Remote Commander for further details.

Conne ct your Re m ote Com m ande r to your PC w ith the USB cable .

Before connecting the Remote Commander to your PC, be sure to connect the supplied AC pow er adaptor to the Remote Commander.
o
Do not disconnect the USB cable from your PC, until kernel transfer and Remote Commander update are complete, as a malfunction may occur.
o
Do not connect several Remote Commanders to your PC at the same time, as you w ill not be able to transfer the kernel to the Remote Commander.
Connect only the RM-NX7000.

Click "Tools " of the m e nu bar, the n s e le ct "Update Ke rne l for NX7000."
The "Update Kernel for NX7000" dialog box appears.

Click
of "Look in," the n s e le ct the folde r that contains the k e rne l.

Se le ct the k e rne l file , and click "Se le ct."
Transfer of the kernel to the Remote Commander starts. When transfer is complete, a message dialog box appears.
Note
After you click "Select," an error message w ill appear if:
o
You select a file other than the kernel file for the RM-NX7000.
o
The data capacity of the kernel is larger than the memory capacity of the Remote Commander.
o
The version of the kernel you are transferring is the same as, or older than that of the Remote Commander.
o
An error occurs w hile you are transferring the kernel (e.g., w hen you disconnect the USB cable).
If you click "Back to file selection," the display returns to the "Update Kernel for NX7000" dialog box, and you can select the kernel file again. If you click
"Cancel update," the updating is canceled.

Click "OK."
The Remote Commander starts to update the kernel. Wait until the updating is complete.
Note
When you are using Window s 2000 Professional, after transfer of the kernel to the Remote Commander, the "Unsafe Removal of Device" dialog box appears.
This is not an error. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
