(950-0750) SS1C FAN PROVING SWITCH REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
Disconnect power from SideShot
1.
Remove wires connected to existing Fan Proving Switch terminals.
2.
Remove existing Fan Proving Switch by loosening nylon nut and carefully removing sensing tube from nylon elbow.
Remove screws which attach Fan Proving Switch to electrical box.
3.
Remove Bleed Orifice from bleed orifice port on existing switch and install it in new Fan Proving Switch bleed orifice port.
Otherwise use new Bleed Orifice supplied with new Fan Proving Switch.
Determine the proper Bleed Orifice to use based on the vent pipe connector length:
A.
If the vent connector length is less than 3.1 equivalent meters (10 feet), then the smaller
opening #52 Bleed Orifice should be used, (See Diagram Below).
B.
If the vent connector length is greater than 3.1 equivalent meters (10 feet), then the larger
opening #40 Bleed Orifice should be used, (See Diagram Below).
4.
Secure proving switch to SideShot with screws.
5.
Insert Fan Proving Switch sensing tube in nylon elbow connected to sensing tube port and tighten nylon nut.
6.
Connect wires to terminals on new Fan Proving Switch. Blue to Common; Yellow to Normally Open.
7.
Reconnect power supply. Close doors and windows and turn on all exhaust fans. Operate equipment for at least 5
minutes. Tripping of the burner circuit by the Fan Prover switch or High Limit switch during the 5 minute operation
indicates an unsafe operating condition. Turn fuel supply off to appliance and DO NOT OPERATE UNTIL UNSAFE
VENTING CONDITION IS INVESTIGATED BY QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL. For detailed safety check see
