LTE Router in A box 15
Quick Manual
Introduction
The LTE router is used to enable a connecting device
(e.g. Elvaco's CMe3100 M-Bus Metering Gateway) to
transmit data over the mobile network. It is mounted and
connected in a protecting enclosure and ready to use at
delivery. For more information about our available
solution setups, please visit the Elvaco website.
Installation
To maintain the product's protection class, avoid drilling
new holes in the enclosure and ensure the use of cable
glands.
Power supply
The installation should be handled by a qualified
electrician or an installer with the required knowledge.
The box is equipped with a breaker. Use a screwdriver to
remove an arbitrary M20 knock-out from the bottom of
the enclosure and connect a power cable from mains to
the wall socket. The included cable gland is used to
fixate the cable in the box.
SIM card
The LTE router requires a SIM card to access the mobile
network.
For all Elvaco services customers, a preinstalled SIM
card is included in the product. Information about the SIM
card identity and its phone number can be found on the
printed label, packed inside the box.
To insert a SIM card:
1. Remove the router from DIN rail in box
2. Unscrew two back panel hex bolts and remove
the back panel
3. Insert SIM card into the SIM socket
4. Attach panel and tighten the hex bolts
5. Attach the mobile antenna (max torque 0.4 Nm)
Antenna
An antenna for mobile networks is included with the LTE
router. Attach the antenna to the SMA connector on the
router and ensure that the antenna is not placed inside
any metallic objects or close to any other objects
interfering with the signal reception.
Network
A network cable is used to connect the LTE router to the
device that will access the mobile network. To begin, use
a screwdriver to remove any M20 knockout from the
bottom of the enclosure. Once the knockout is removed,
connect one end of the network cable to the port of the
LTE router and the other end to the intended device.
If the LTE router is being used with an Elvaco CGc-Box,
the network cable should instead be connected to the
CMe3100 Ethernet connector. Finally, to ensure a secure
installation, use the included cable gland to fix the cable
in place in the enclosure.
