Installation Notice • The quality of the compressed air shall fulfill the requirements in ISO 8573-1:2010 [7:4:4]. • When working in environments with dust, dirt and larger particles that could jam the ejector unit and cause impaired performance, it is recommended to use piCLASSIC Neo Inline with piSAVE®...
Page 14
Operation 5. Operation The energy saving (ES) function shuts off the compressed air inlet flow to the pump once the set vacuum level, ES high, is reached and the piSAVE® ESS keeps this vacuum level over time and retains the object. When the vacuum level has decreased to ES low the compressed air inlet flow to the pump is turned on again until the vacuum level has increased to the ES high value.
Page 15
Operation The ES hysteresis is the difference between the ES high and ES low vacuum levels. Two examples of ES hysteresis at different compressed air feed pressures are shown in the table below. The signal range for piSAVE® ESS is 30-90 -kPa. Feed pressure Unit Hysteresis...

• All maintenance must be performed in compliance with this manual, including safety instructions. • Only authorized personnel, or Piab AB, shall perform repairs. • Only use original spare parts. 6.1. Inspection An ejector can be removed to be checked for the need of cleaning, see chapter Extracting and inserting an ejector.
Page 17
Maintenance Clean the ejector using ultrasonic cleaning, compressed air, or water and soap. See chapter Cleaning. Make sure to relubricate the O-rings before re-installing the ejector. Push the ejector into the housing and use a screwdriver to turn the ejector according to the LOCK direction. Figure 10.
