Driver Installation / Removing
- System requirements
- Symbian Series 60, NOKIA N91.
- At least 100 KB free memory on your N91.
- A computer with the Microsoft Windows 2000/XP operating system.
- PC Suite (available on one of the CDs delivered with your phone).
- Before to use
- Check the batteries status of Remote Control. (Open the switch to check the blue light on the Remote.)
- Disable other devices' application using Bluetooth.
- How to Install / Upgrade/Remove the Bluetooth Remote Control Driver?
- Installation
For Symbian Series 60 OS, the Remote Control driver can be installed by AutoRun CD-ROM, PC Suite, Cable or Wireless file transfer ( Infrared or Bluetooth ). Please find the details as below information.
(When the N91 receives the file, it will show message with file "Remote.sis", click " View". You will be warned that "Application is untrusted and may have problems. Install only if you trust provider." Click "Yes", then click "Install". )
Install the Application in N91 by AutoRun CD-ROM
- Establish the connection between your computer and your N91.
- Insert Bluetooth Remote Control CD into computer's CD-Rom drive.
- Follow the instruction on screen to complete the installation.
When the installation is finished, you can find this Remote control icon is showed on the "My Own" page of the N91. (Figure 1)

Install the Application in N91 by Infrared or Bluetooth file Transfer
- Disable applications or drivers in the N91, which may use Infrared or Bluetooth ports.
- Path: CD-Rom driver » Files » Symbian » Series60 » Language. Tag the file "Remote.sis" on your computer or CD-ROM.
- Follow the instructions for the Infrared or Bluetooth software on your computer to locate the N91 and transfer the file to it.
After the driver is installed successfully, the Remote driver icon will show up in the "My Own" page. (Figure 1)
- Upgrading
Please check the Agent's website from time to time to check if any new driver is released.
( If you want to install the latest driver, please uninstall the previous driver first. ) - Removing
- Turn the driver off.
- Select Tools -> Application Manager -> Remote -> Remove. (Figure 2)

Configuring Bluetooth Remote Control
- When you click the "Remote" icon, you will see two pages "Config" and " About ".

- How to switch the page of driver interface?
Method 1:
Please use the left direction or the right direction buttons of your N91 to switch the page.
Method 2:
Please use the left function key of your N91 to select the " Options " on your N91, and then switch the page by clicking the contents of your " Options ". (Figure 4)

- How to connect the Bluetooth Remote with your device?
- Turn the Bluetooth Remote on, the LED will flash blue for 1 second, the Bluetooth Remote is in discovery mode.
- Tap "Remote" icon in application list of the N91. (Figure 7) You will then see Figure 8.

- Turn "Active Remote" option to "On" to scan the Bluetooth Remote Control and the link will be established automatically after some seconds. (Figure 9)

- When the connection is established successfully, you will see the Bluetooth icon your of N91 (Figure 10), and the LED of the Bluetooth Remote will flash blue twice. every other second

- Reconnection
After the first connection established successfully, then you can turn "Reconnection" to "On". This function allows the Bluetooth Remote memorizes the last connected device, and they will pair automatically in next connection without further search.
Note: Please do not turn "Reconnection" on before the first connection established.
Auto-connection
To make the use of the Remote Control friendly, the "auto-connection" function is designed after the first manual connection between the Remote Control and the N91 is established.
- How to make sure the "auto-connection" function work??
- Make sure you have established the first connection between your N91 and the Bluetooth Remote Control. (See Active Remote in the last section.)
- Turn off the Bluetooth Remote Control.
- Turn on the Bluetooth Remote Control. By turning on, the LED will flash blue for about 5 second quickly and then two times every one second. When you find "connected" (Figure 10) from your N91, the auto-connection is working.

- How to check the version of driver?
Please click the "About" page to see the version and language. (Figure 11)

Bluetooth Remote Control Status LED
When the Bluetooth Remote Control is turned on, you can find a LED on it. This LED can indicate the status of the Remote Control and battery.
- When the LED flashs bule light once every other second, this is the state that the Bluetooth Remote can be detected by handheld device.
- When the LED flashs blue light twice every other second, this is the status that the Bluetooth Remote is connected by handheld device.
- When the LED flashs blue light very quickly for a few seconds, this is the status that the Bluetooth Remote is auto-serching for your N91.
- When the LED flashs Red light once or twice every other second, this is the batteries are in low level. You should charge the batteries immediately.
