COMPATIBILITY

The battery mount kit is intended for owners of HM126 sawmills and HM130 sawmills without electric start who purchased a Power Head kit to raise and lower the sawhead.
Note: The battery is not included and will require charging. Gasoline engines without electric start do not utilize alternators that would automatically charge the battery. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the operator to charge the battery as required.

ASSEMBLY

BATTERY MOUNT

The Battery Mount Kit includes a battery mount and battery box that will support and house a customer-supplied battery necessary to run the Power Head.

2020 AND NEWER HM126 SAWMILLS
On 2020 and newer HM126 sawmills, assemble the battery mount to the side of the engine mount on the back beam using the components listed below.

3x M10 X 30 mm Hex Bolt
3x M10 Lock Nut
6x M10 Flat Washer
1x Battery Support

Secure the battery mount to the engine mount using three (3) M10 X 30 mm hex bolts, six (6) M10 flat washers, and three (3) M10 lock nuts. Use the three (3) existing holes on the side of the engine mount.
Battery Mount - Example 1

2019 AND OLDER HM126 SAWMILLS/HM130 SAWMILLS WITHOUT ELECTRIC START
On 2019 and older HM126 sawmills—and HM130 sawmills without electric start—remove the belt tensioner lock nut and washer from the side of the engine mount.

3x M10 X 30 mm Hex Bolt
3x M10 Lock Nut
6x M10 Flat Washer
1x M10 Flat Washer
(Thick)
1x Battery Support
1x 11 mm Drill Bit

On 2019 and older HM126 sawmills — and HM130 sawmills without electric start—remove the belt tensioner lock nut and washer from the side of the engine mount. Discard the washer as it will be replaced.
Battery Mount - Example 2 - Step 1
In order to assemble the battery mount to the engine mount, three (3) holes must be drilled in the engine mount to bolt it on.
The engine mount varies in size/shape depending on the model year.

Hold the battery mount up against the side of the engine mount, ensuring the belt tensioner bolt protrudes through the slot. The top surfaces of both mounts should be in-line with a noticeable gap at the front to clear any welds.
Battery Mount - Example 2 - Step 2

Mark the three (3) holes in the locations shown above and drill using the 11 mm drill bit.
Battery Mount - Example 2 - Step 3

Use cutting oil when drilling holes for the battery mount or else the heat generated could ruin the drill bit and produce a rough surface finish.
Once the holes are drilled, secure the battery mount to the engine mount using three (3) M10 X 30 mm hex bolts, six (6) M10 flat washers, and three (3) M10 lock nuts.
Battery Mount - Example 2 - Step 4

Replace the washer originally used on the belt tensioner with the thick M10 flat washer that is provided with the battery mount kit.
Battery Mount - Example 2 - Step 5
The belt tension is still adjusted in the same manner as before. Refer to the sawmill manual.

BATTERY BOX

With the battery mount fully secured to the engine mount on the sawmill back beam, assemble the battery box base to the battery mount using the components listed below.

4x M6 X 20 mm Hex Bolt
4x M6 Lock Nut
4x M6 Fender Washer
1x Battery Box Base

Assemble the battery box base to the battery mount using four (4) M6 X 20 mm hex bolts, four (4) M6 fender washers, and four (4) M6 lock nuts.
Assembly - Step 1 - Battery Box
