1 Bestimmungsgemäßer Einsatz
Es sind die Varianten der Grundtypen beschrieben. Für kundenspezifische Typen können
zusätzlich die Datenblätter bei elobau angefordert werden.
Einsatzgebiet
- Die Maschinensicherheitssensoren nur sachgerecht und bestimmungsgemäß verwenden.
Bei Zuwiderhandlungen erlischt jegliche Garantie und Herstellerverantwortung.
- Sicherstellen, dass alle geltenden Sicherheitsbestimmungen der entsprechenden Maschine
eingehalten werden.
- Sicherstellen, dass alle geltenden europäischen Richtlinien und nationalen Gesetze/Richtlinien
eingehalten werden.
Sicherheit/Gefahren
- Für Personenschutz mit zugelassener Sicherheitsauswertung einsetzen.
- Maschinensicherheitssensor nur im vollständig geschlossenen und unversehrten Gehäuse betreiben.
- Bei der Montage Markierungen auf Maschinensicherheitssensor und Schaltmagnet beachten.
Europa-Hygiene-Norm und Zulassung nach UL/CSA
Folgende Typen sind zugelassen nach ANSI/UL 508 und CAN/CSA C22.2#14:

Die Hygienemagnete (VH/SH) erfüllen die Europa-Hygiene-Norm CEN/TC 153/HN108E.
2 Funktion
Berührungslose Maschinensicherheitssensoren arbeiten mit einem Reedschalter. Eine Auswerteeinheit
oder Überwachungseinheit wertet den Sensor aus. Ein codiertes Magnetsystem betätigt die
Maschinensicherheitssensoren berührungslos.
- Vorschriften für Personenschutz beachten.
Bei Näherung des Schaltmagnets zum Maschinensicherheitssensor (siehe Schaltmagnete) treten
folgende Reaktionen auf:

3 Montage
- Sicherstellen, dass die Markierungen von Maschinensicherheitssensor und Schaltmagnet sich
deckungsgleich gegenüberstehen. Die Montagelage ist beliebig.
- Sensor und Schaltmagnet nicht in ferritischem Material anbringen. Falls nötig 20 mm nicht ferritisches
Material um den Sensor verwenden.
- Schaltmagnet mit nicht ferritischen Schrauben befestigen.
Die Inbussicherung 351040 für Senkschrauben DIN 7991/M5 verhindert eine einfache Demontage.
- Sicherstellen, dass Sensor und Schaltmagnet nicht in starken Magnetfeldern angebracht werden.
- Eisenspäne fernhalten.
- Sicherstellen, dass Sensor und Schaltmagnet nicht als mechanischer Anschlag verwendet werden.
- Sicherstellen, dass der Montageabstand zwischen zwei Sensoren min. 50 mm beträgt.
- Einbautoleranz beachten.
Anschließen
Anschlüsse sind auf verschiedene Arten mit einer flexiblen Anschlussleitung möglich (siehe Technische
Daten).
- Zulässige Grenzwerte beachten.
- Leitungen vor mechanischer Beschädigung schützen.
Wenn mehrere Sensoren mit LED eingesetzt werden, nimmt die Leuchtkraft der LEDs

mit zunehmender Anzahl geöffneter Schutztüren ab.
4 Inbetriebnahme
- Sicherstellen, dass die Maschinensicherheitssensoren nur von Fachpersonal in Betrieb genommen
werden.
- Sicherstellen, dass die Maschinensicherheitssensoren nur in den zugelassenen Bereichen eingesetzt
werden (siehe Bestimmungsgemäßer Einsatz).
5 Wartung
- Maschinensicherheitssensoren nicht verändern.
- Komponenten nur gegen Original-Ersatzteile austauschen, die für den definierten Einsatz freigegeben
sind.
- Geeignete Wartungsintervalle gemäß den Umweltbeanspruchungen vor Ort festlegen.

Safety/Dangers
- For operator protection, use in connection with an approved safety control.
- Only operate the machine safety sensor in a completely closed and undamaged housing.
- During installation, note the marks on the machine safety sensor and actuation magnet.

2 Function
Non-contact machine safety sensors work with a reed switch. A control unit or monitoring unit evaluates
the sensor. A coded magnet system actuates the machine safety sensors without contact.
- Follow instructions for operator protection.
When the actuation magnet approaches the machine safety sensor (see actuation magnets), the
following reactions occur:

3 Installation
- Make sure that the marks on the machine safety sensor and the actuation magnet are aligned with
each other. Any installation position may be used.
- Do not mount the sensor and actuation magnet in ferritic material. If necessary, use non-ferritic
material in an area of 20 mm around the sensor.
- Mount the actuation magnet with non-ferritic screws.
The hexagon screw locking device 351040 for countersunk screws DIN 7991/M5 prevents easy
disassembly.
- Make sure that the sensor and the actuation magnet are not mounted in strong magnetic fields.
- Keep iron chips away.
- Make sure that the sensor and the actuation magnet are not used as a mechanical stop.
- Make sure that the mounting clearance between the two sensors is at least 50 mm.
- Observe the installation tolerance.
Connection
Various types of connections are possible using a flexible connecting cable (see Technical Data).
- Remain within the permitted limit values.
- Protect the lines from mechanical damage.
When several sensors with LED are used, the light output of the LEDs decreases in
NOTE
relation to the increased number of open protection doors.
4 Putting into operation
- Ensure that the machine safety sensors are put into operation only by expert personnel.
- Make sure that the machine safety sensors are only used in the approved areas (see Appropriate use).
5 Maintenance
- Do not modify the machine safety sensors.
- Only replace components with original spare parts which are approved for the defined application.
- Determine suitable maintenance intervals according to local environmental stresses.
