When using the WEP Key value from the WAP200G with the various
communicating Modero panels, enter only hexidecimal digits into the
WAP200G's WEP Key field.
14. Enter in a set of characters into the WEP Key field corresponding to the above choice of WEP
key size and length. This is the WEP KEy value used by the target device.
WEP will not work unless the same WEP default key is set on both the panel
and the Wireless Access Point.
For example: if you have your Wireless Access Point set to default key 4 (which
was 01:02:03:04:05), you must set the panel's key 4 to 01:02:03:04:05.
15. Click on the right drop-down arrow and choose a default WEP Key from the Default WEP Key
to Use field. This is the default WEP Key for authentication and deciphering of the
communication between the WAP200G and the Modero panel.
16. Place a checkmark within the Deny Unencrypted Data checkbox field to deny any unencrypted
users from being able to access the newly secured WAP200G.
17. Select the type of Authentication by selecting the desired radio button from within the
Authentication field.
18. Click the Save button to incorporate this new information.
19. Click the Reboot button from the new Temporarily Saved page that appears.
20. Click OK to reconfirm you want to reboot the WAP200G. Wait a few seconds for the Status
page to reappear within the web browser. The Current Wireless Settings section should now
display that the WAP200G has now been WEP Enabled.
21. Press the IP Address tab, from the Configuration Utility, to open the IP Address Configuration
page (FIG. 38).
22. Enter an alpha-numeric value for the Bridge into the Bridge Name field.
23. Select the IP Address Mode by selecting the Static radio button from within the IP Address
Mode field.
24. Enter the Static IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway information into their respective fields
on this page. These values can be obtained from the System Administrator.
25. Click the Save button to incorporate this new information.
26. Click the Reboot button from the new Temporarily Saved page that appears.
NXA-WAP200G Wireless Access Point
Example: 00112233445566778899aabbcc using a 128 bit hex digit encryption.
These 26 hex digits will now be transmitted using 128-bit encryption.
Open allows any wireless device using the correct SSID to communicate to the
WAP200G.
Shared requires that only those wireless devices using the proper WEP key be allowed to
communicate to the WAP200G.
It is best to have a Static IP Address assigned to the WAP200G so if the Configuration
Utility needs to be accessed again at some later point in time, the Network Connections
> TCP/IP Configuration Properties can be setup with the correct IP Address for direct
communication to the WAP200G.
